Fairford Electronics to launch ‘game-changing’ agility™ soft starter range at SPS IPC Drives

Global number one in the low voltage soft starter market, Fairford Electronics, part of the Motortronics Group, will be launching its new agility™ range at next week’s SPS IPC Drives 2018. Fairford will be on stand 1-139.

Fairford’s agility™ soft starter range has been developed to exceed industry demands and now has three standard frame sizes to cover all typical applications from 7.5kW to 250kW at 500VAC, 15 - 350HP at 600VAC.

agility™ is introduced by Fairford as a game-changing soft starter with features that include a smart application pre-program suite and 3S technology to deliver stable acceleration and deceleration in all operating conditions. Also showcased on the stand will be the synergy™ high performance energy saving soft starter. The incorporation of Fairford’s unique iERS technology allows synergy™ to deliver unrivalled soft start performance alongside enhanced energy saving capability on partially loaded motors.

This product launch follows on from the announcement earlier this year that Fairford is now part of the Motortronics Group, a world leader in solid-state AC motor controls and motor protection. With a product range perfectly complementing Fairford’s range of low voltage soft starters, this acquisition means that the Motortronics Group is now the largest soft starter manufacturer in the World.

Motortronics will be featuring their MVC4 medium voltage soft starter on the stand at SPS. Designed for applications up to 15kV, the MVC4 includes selectable ramping profiles to suit specific applications; 500% duty for 60 seconds and 600% for 30 seconds; plus an optional touchscreen interface.

This is a first time attendance for Fairford Electronics as an exhibitor at SPS IPC Drives. Organisers of the exhibition say it will be the largest event to date, with an additional hall being used, taking the total floor space to 135,000m2, with 20 UK companies exhibiting and 1,700 international businesses.

Mark Shepherd, Fairford managing director commented: “We’re delighted to be exhibiting at SPS IPC Drives for the first time. Our presence underlines our commitment to global growth that is facilitated by being part of the Motortronics Group.”
